Park View WR Ryan Carter commits to Liberty

Over the last two seasons, no receiver in the AA Dulles District has more receptions, yards or touchdowns than Park View senior Ryan McCarter. And despite a rocky run for the Patriots over that period, McCarter’s playmaking ability did not go unnoticed.

The 6-2, 160-pound receiver and defensive back has verbally committed to play football at Liberty University next fall.

McCarter posted career highs in receptions (65) and receiving yards (937) this fall, establishing a rapport with senior quarterback Alec Dombkowski. He scored three touchdowns and piled up a school record 229 yards in a critical Week 9 win against Loudoun Valley that helped push the Patriots into the Region II Division 4 playoffs.

McCarter caught two more touchdown passes and had eight receptions for 154 yards in a first-round loss to defending state champions Briar Woods last Friday.

Liberty competes in the Big South Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision. The Flames are 5-0 in their conference so far this season and 7-3 overall.
