Updated again, 10/20: Here’s the Bruni-Sarkozy baby name

Original post, 3:30 p.m.: Thought you’d want to know: The French newspaper Le Figaro reports that Carla Bruni-Sarkozy is in labor and has checked into a Paris hospital to give birth.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy — the almost-as-famous dad — stopped in to check on his first lady, according to the constant series of Web updates provided by the paper, before flying to Frankfurt on official business — a meeting on the European debt crisis, reports AP.

The supermodel-turned-singer, 43, has been publicly guarded about her much-watched pregnancy, insisting last month it’s fairly banal news. She and Sarkozy married in February 2008 after a whirlwind courtship. This will be her second child and his fourth, but their first together.
