Divorcing: Demi Moore, 49, and Ashton Kutcher, 33, she announced via a statement from a publicist Thursday. You can’t say they didn’t have a good run, by Hollywood standards, anyway: Six years of marriage, despite an age difference that drew skeptics from the start. Their red-carpet life seemed drama-free for years — both remaining chummy with her ex, Bruce Willis, and Kutcher publicly a doting stepdad to her three daughters by that marriage. But last year, a 22-year-old told tabloids she’d had a fling with Kutcher; and then last month another 22-year-old emerged with a similar story. No direct cause-and-effect offered by Moore, but draw your own conclusions: “As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred,” her statement said, “and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life.” Kutcher, who hinted at dark times last week when he handed his famously candid Twitter account over to a team of publicists, tweeted Thursday afternoon that he “will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. . . Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail.”
