The retired superstar pitcher, wearing all black, was back in town, it turns out, to take his daughter’s eighth-grade class, visiting from their school in the Dominican Republic, to get a behind-the-scenes peek at his portrait, unveiled last year at the National Portrait Gallery (though not currently on display); his portrait artist Susan Miller-Havens caught up with the group for the tour.
