Game show legend Alex Trebek is recovering from a mild heart attack. His rep told AP the “Jeopardy” host was admitted to a hospital in L.A. but is expected to recover and be back delivering reverse-questions when the show resumes production on a new season next month. Trebek also suffered a mild heart incident in 2007, and last summer snapped his Achilles tendon while chasing a burgler who robbed his San Francisco hotel room.

• Police in Waterbury, Conn., concluded that the mother of TV star Dylan McDermott was killed 45 years ago by her small-time gangster boyfriend. Diane McDermott’s death was ruled an accident in 1967, based on John Sponza’s claim that she picked up a gun that fired unexpectedly — but after a new look at the cold case, officials told the Waterbury Republican-American they would have evidence to charge Sponza with murder, if he hadn’t been killed himself in 1972. McDermott, the star of “American Horror Story” and “The Practice,” raised questions with police about his mother’s death last year.
