Sorry, you're not on the list: Fantasia dazzles the crowd at NABOB

Event: Friday's 27th Annual National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters awards dinner.

Site: Omni Shoreham Hotel ballroom.

A-listers: Emcee Sherri Shepherd, Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr., gospel singer Regina Belle, neo soul darling Chrisette Michele, "Real Housewives of D.C.'s" Stacie Turner, plus honorees Buddy Guy, Bobby Jones and Soledad O'Brien.

Dress: To impress -- lots of bling and color, reports our colleague Erin Williams.

Amenities: Sushi and shrimp at the reception, dessert bar at the after-party, live NABOB Twitter feed throughout the night.

Game-changer: The tame evening shifted into high gear when Fantasia took the stage, kicked off her Louboutins ("If your shoes hurt, take them off!" she declared) and brought the crowd to its feet with her performance of throwback oldies, including Prince's "Purple Rain." Even 71-year-old honoree Jones got into the act: "You got to be something special to get Bobby Jones up during 'Purple Rain!' " Shepherd proclaimed
