The newly-minted Congressional ladies room is finally up and running just off the House floor, and it sounds like they went all out on the much needed facility, reports our colleague Nancy McKeon: “The entry has the dignified exterior of other Capitol offices: mahogany double doors and door casing, a small brass plaque overhead showing the room number and, stenciled in gold paint on a wooden door plaque, ‘Members Only.’” Also, fireplace, a chandelier, and some antique tiles with “rich geometric and baroque patterns.” Until John Boehner ordered construction of the new loo in December, congresswomen had to trek across Statuary Hall for a bathroom break.
