U-Md. students divided on Big 10 move

Judging by the furious reaction of alumni to Maryland’s Big 10 move, I expected this morning to find current students at DEFCON 1 — ready for war.

They are not. Or at least not many of the ones interviewed by The Diamondback school newspaper in the video below.

Several students agreed with the move, saying it would help the school financially, a sentiment echoed by the paper’s editor-in-chief, who in a column wrote “Financially speaking only, this is a brilliant move.”

One student in the video even went beyond the financial argument, saying, “I’m sick of us defining ourselves on beating Duke.”

Wow.

I suspect commenters will disagree below.
