Fresh from an appearance at Wimbledon this week, the royal couple is kicking off their much anticipated expedition over to our side of the pond with a nine-day tour of Canada. First up on their agenda? Pre-Canada Day festivities in Ottawa today where the government will unfurl Prince William’s new personal flag. The duke and duchess will then travel to Montreal to visit with veterans before hopping over to Prince Edward Island, where William will reportedly show off his helicopter piloting skills. Their Canadian grand round will end in Calgary, where a university tour is planned along with a day at the Calgary Stampede.
We can expect plenty of 10-gallon hats, dragon boat races, campfires and canoe excursions, according to the AP. But the glitz and glam will reach a whole new level when the two touch down in Los Angeles for a major charity event at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club (1,000 VIP tickets have already sold at $4,000 a pop). Which sparks the real question – what will Kate wear?
Grazia Daily reports that the duchess has consulted a personal shopper at Selfridges and Harvey Nichols department stores — the same person who helps Prince William and Harry with their Christmas shopping. Kate has previously forgone stylists, opting instead for ready-to-wear brands like Zara and Reiss. However, the British glossy claims that the newly minted fashion icon was spotted leaving the Alexander McQueen office in Clerkenwell, London, recently with a seemingly reddish garment.
