Now we see the benefits of an official royal wedding Web site!

Royal officials have updated the site devoted to the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, posting photos from the Middleton family albums — there are charming images of Kate from childhood, but the main attraction is the pic of Kate and William the day they graduated from the University of St. Andrews — and a biography of the royal bride-to-be.

So, what didn’t we know about Kate Middleton? Lots, apparently. Such as that “at the age of two, Catherine moved with her family to Amman in Jordan, where her father worked for two and a half years. Catherine attended a nursery school in Amman from the age of three.” There’s the factoid that she and Prince William both spent part of their pre-university “gap year” in Chile. Her hobbies include “recreational sports such as hill walking, tennis, swimming, sailing, and the arts such as photography and painting.”

According to the Associated Press, the royal wedding Web site has attracted nearly 2 million visits since its launch last week.
