Prince Harry lands in California

Prince Harry is in California this morning, to the delight of all American girls who love both British royalty and the movie “Top Gun.” The prince will be training at the Naval Air Facility at El Centro, Calif., the same locale where much of “Top Gun” was filmed, reports CNN, completing the Tom-Cruise-meets-royals dreams of 20-something females across the country.

But the trip will have none of the publicity ops that categorized his older brother and sister-in-law’s trip this summer. Prince Harry, known as Capt. Harry Wales to his British Army Air Corps counterparts, will receive intense training for Apache helicopters. The facility has hosted allied troops throughout the year due to its similarities to Afghanistan’s hot and arid climate. Harry may return to Afghanistan if he completes the training course.
