Anthony Weiner, do you even have to ask?

Former New York congressman Anthony Weiner, who left public life two years ago after a sexting scandal, is “eyeing a comeback.” (Video)

Here’s the problem with Anthony Weiner “eyeing” a run for mayor of New York City: Pretty much everything.

Before he blew up his political career with a sexting scandal two years ago, the New York congressman was known, as the New York Times Magazine puts it, for his “overweening” ambition.

Now, though, he’s known for the shot seen round the country, and I’d be hard-pressed to say whether it’s city council speaker and fellow mayoral hopeful Chris Quinn or the New York Post who more fervently hopes he does run.

The question is not “Is it too soon?” It’s, “Do you have to even ask?”
