D.C. United at Philadelphia Union

D.C. United hasn’t won on the road since its previous visit to PPL Park more than three months ago (six consecutive away defeats by a 14-3 margin). The Philadelphia Union hasn’t won at any venue in almost two months — three losses and four draws.

While the Union (27 points from 26 matches) is beginning to look ahead to 2013, United (44 from 28) faces another critical match in the effort to keep pace with the Columbus Crew (45 from 29).

A victory would do wonders. A draw would suffice. A loss would be costly.

This is the fourth meeting between the clubs this year: United won in Chester, the teams drew at RFK Stadium, and Philadelphia bounced DCU from the U.S. Open Cup at Maryland SoccerPlex.

Kickoff: 8:09 p.m. ET.

Announcers: Glenn Davis and Taylor Twellman.

DCU: Hamid; Najar, McDonald, Jakovic, Korb; DeLeon, Kitchen, Neal, Boskovic, Pontius; Pajoy. Subs: Willis, Russell, Dudar, White, Augusto, Salihi, Santos.

PHL: MacMath; Williams, Valdes, Okugo, G. Farfan; Carroll, Gomez, Daniel, Cruz; Hoppenot, McInerney. Subs: Harrison, Gaddis, Lahoud, Torres, Adu, Martinez, Hoffman.
