The Los Angeles Galaxy in MLS Cup? No surprise. David Beckham, Landon Donovan and Co. were the class of the league through the regular season and maintained their stride through the playoffs, culminating with a classy 3-1 victory over Real Salt Lake on Sunday evening. Donovan converted a penalty, Beckham set up Mike Magee for the go-ahead goal, and Robbie Keane sealed passage.

The Houston Dynamo? Second seed in the East, but a surprise nonetheless. Houston was winless on the road for six months, then won its final two regular season away affairs, opened the playoffs by winning at Philadelphia and, after capping that series at home, defeated host Sporting Kansas City, 2-0, on Sunday.

Since a 3-0 loss at Kansas City on Sept. 10, the Dynamo is 7-0-2 and has conceded just six goals. Unfortunately, MVP candidate Brad Davis suffered a quadriceps injury Sunday that is likely to prevent him from playing in the final.
