Matchnight #24: D.C. United at Kansas City

Greetings from Livestrong Sporting Park, Kansas City’s lovely new stadium. The complex is immaculate, the playing surface a little rough. We’ll see how it plays.

Before we get started, I wanted to let you know I’ll take vacation this coming week and won’t rejoin you until Saturday’s match between D.C. United and the Portland Timbers at RFK Stadium. In my absence, Post colleagues will contribute to the blog periodically.

Tonight United seeks to extend its away unbeaten streak to eight and, with a victory, move into a tie for third place in MLS’s Eastern Conference.

Kickoff: 8:30 p.m. ET.

TV: Live on Direct Kick and MatchDay Live pay services. Tape delay at 9:30 p.m. on Comcast SportsNet in the D.C. area.

DCU LINEUP: Willis; Kitchen, Jakovic, McDonald, Woolard; Najar, Simms, Quaranta, Pontius; Wolff, Brettschneider; Subs: Cronin, Burch, White, da Luz, King, De Rosario, Ngwenya.

Davies being rested and not in the 18. De Rosario the same, but in the 18 and likely to appear in the second half.

Your pregame, in-game and postgame thoughts are welcome in our comments section.
