Matchnight #25: D.C. United at Chivas USA

It’s been 20 days since D.C. United last played: Will we see a club refreshed and rejuvenated or one that sputters to find a rhythm? Perhaps a combinaton of all elements. United has played the fewest matches in MLS — five fewer than two other clubs — but points are urgently needed in the next few games to make up ground and gain playoff position in the inferior Eastern Conference.

United (31 points) welcomed earlier results Saturday: Houston (35) losing at Kansas City (40), Philadelphia (36) held to a draw at home by Portland, Toronto (27) winning at Columbus (40) and 10-man New York (33) tying at home against lowly Vancouver.

Kickoff: 10:30 p.m. ET.

TV: Comcast SportsNet in Washington-Baltimore area, Direct Kick.

DCU: Hamid; Kitchen, White, McDonald, Woolard; Najar, Simms, De Rosario, Quaranta; Pontius, Davies.

Subs: Willis, Burch, Morsink, King, da Luz, Ngwenya, Wolff.

Not in uniform: Jakovic, Brettschneider.
