Matchnight #28: D.C. United vs. Real Salt Lake

Before we turn to tonight’s match between D.C. United and Real Salt Lake at RFK Stadium, might some stadium optimism be bubbling to the surface in the nation’s capital?

I caught up with DCU owner Will Chang before the game. I pressed him the best I could (without security interceding).

“I hope we can announce soon, but I can’t give a commitment on when I can announce,” he said.

So it’s Buzzard Point, right?

“We’re working very hard, but I can’t tell you much beyond that.”

You know, the supporters would probably renew their season tickets the second you shared detailed information. How about it?

“That’s called leading the witness [laughter]. We’re looking very aggressively.”

So there you go.

Kickoff: 7:30 p.m. ET.

TV: No standard local coverage. Direct Kick, Matchday Live.

DCU: Hamid; Kitchen, White, McDonald, Burch; Najar, Simms, King, da Luz; De Rosario, Wolff.

Subs: Willis, Woolard, Barklage, Quaranta, Davies, Brettschneider, Ngwenya.
