Sporting Kansas City opens Livestrong Sporting Park with 0-0 draw against Chicago Fire

Sporting Kansas City’s first match at Livestrong Sporting Park offered plenty: pregame pagaentry, a flyover, a standing-room-only crowd, a properly disallowed goal, a goalkeeper’s red card disputed by no one, a shot off the crossbar, a pitch invasion by a fan in a cow costume who scored a goal, Lance Armstrong in attendance, a non-call on a penalty (which prompted a postgame tweet from KC’s president) and nine minutes of added time. Unfortunately, it lacked quality play and a goal. (What do you expect from clubs that have combined for two victories in 24 league matches?)
