The Terrapins’ fate rests largely in the hands of sophomore guard Terrell Stoglin, Liz Clarke wrote for Thursday’s paper. Jeff Barker of the Baltimore Sun quotes Stoglin as saying his game is misunderstood and his father saying that Stoglin’s goal right now is to return to Maryland for his junior season.

Wake Forest Coach Jeff Bzdelik, meanwhile, says his team is “in a good place” after improving from 1-15 in the ACC to 4-12 this season. The Demon Deacons will be without senior center Ty Walker, who is suspended for the rest of the season.

The winner of Thursday’s game gets top-seeded North Carolina in the quarterfinals on Friday.
