ACC tournament: Maryland-North Carolina open thread

Eighth-seeded Maryland, fresh off an easy win over No. 9 seed Wake Forest in Thursday’s ACC tournament first round, has a bigger challenge in the quarterfinals on Friday: top-seeded and fourth-ranked North Carolina.

The Terrapins are riding some momentum coming off perhaps their most complete game of the season, and look to avoid a three-game season sweep at the hands of the Tar Heels. North Carolina took an 83-74 win at Comcast Center on Feb. 4 and an 88-64 win in Chapel Hill on Feb. 29.

Maryland guard Nick Faust, for one, isn’t showing any freshman jitters.

The Tar Heels are looking to lock up a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament with a strong showing in the ACC tournament.
