Former Maryland players find homes as NFL free agents

With the NFL’s free agent frenzy kicking off in earnest today after the lockout ended, a number of former Maryland players have reached deals with professional clubs.

Linebacker Adrian Moten and punter Travis Baltz are headed to the Indianapolis Colts. Tight end Will Yeatman, who also plays lacrosse, was signed by the New England Patriots, whose coach, Bill Belichick, is a lacrosse fan. Linebacker Alex Wujciak was picked up by the Cleveland Browns and wide receiver LaQuan Williams is headed up Interstate 95 to the Baltimore Ravens.

Also of note: former Maryland quarterback Josh Portis, who played one season with the Terrapins before transferring to Division II California (Pa.), signed with the Seattle Seahawks.
