Maryland football coach Randy Edsall said Thursday that the NCAA Clearinghouse issues involving freshman wide receiver Nigel King remain unresolved. King has yet to practice this spring.
Edsall said the team has received a decision from the NCAA, but it appears as if Maryland has filed an appeal. Edsall declined to discuss the matter further, saying there are “still some things going on with the decision that we received and what we want to be able to do. I’ll just leave it at that until there’s a final decision with what’s taken place.”
Edsall said he had not anticipated having such a difficult time getting King cleared to play by the NCAA, but would not go any further than that.
King, a native of Raleigh, N.C., enrolled at Maryland in January after wrapping up his high school career at Oak Ridge Military Academy.
