Terps Coach Randy Edsall host critically ill children

Maryland football coach Randy Edsall hosted several critically ill children from the Casey Cares Foundation during the team’s final open preseason practice on Friday morning in College Park.

The Baltimore-based Casey Cares Foundation provides uplifting programs for critically ill children and their families and was identified as the charity of choice by the Maryland athletic department.

“I am excited to be hosting these special kids and their families,” Edsall said. “If we can bring a smile to their faces and provide a distraction for them, even for a short time it will be wonderful. Reaching out to the community and helping kids like those associated with Casey Cares is important to us as a program and a terrific experience for our student athletes.”

Following the approximately two-hour practice, Edsall treated the Casey Cares children and their families to lunch at the football team house next to the field at Byrd Stadium.
