The junior forward holds off on entering the NBA draft, bolstering Maryland's hopes to be a national contender next season.

Trimble, Layman will "go through the process" of evaluating their NBA Draft status before deciding to return or leave.

While his shot attempts have decreased in last two games, Layman remains confident in offensive role ahead of Illinois.

“It would have been devastating if we had lost another one,” Coach Mark Turgeon said.

Sophomore came off the bench, and it seemed to have helped.

“I think they’re coming with a lot of vengeance,” guard Nick Faust said. “They know we can possibly get the victory just because of the type of team we are. They’re definitely going to come with a full head of steam, just because they lost two in a row.”

The sophomore forward has made just three three-pointers over the past five games.
