Bike commuting on the rise in D.C.: Tell us #whyibike

The Washington area abounds with pedal-pushing commuters, with twice the average of the nation’s 70 largest cities, Capital Business. reports.

The region saw an 86 percent increase in the number of people bicycling to work between 2000 and 2009, according to the American League of Bicyclists. That means about 2.2 percent of D.C. area workers pedal to the office.
