Bin Laden cupcakes, a ‘Justice Party’ and toasting the military

Because there is apparently no wrong time for a cupcake, Furin’s in Georgetown baked up a set of U.S.A. and Osama bin Laden-themed sweets to commemorate the news that U.S. forces had killed the al-Qaeda leader in Pakistan after a decade-long search.

(Thankfully, they don’t feature bin Laden’s trademark beard like these cupcakes advertised in Georgia.)

In case you’re looking for something a little stronger than a sugar rush, the Going Out Guide’s Lavanya Ramanathan and Fritz Hahn have rounded up special events and military discounts at Washington area bars and restaurants.

Tonight’s big event: The “Justice Party” at Lima, from 10:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. Guests are being asked to wear red, white and blue.

Find the full list of specials and more area events this week in the Post’s Guide Out Guide.
