Cherry blossoms + free food? D.C’s blogs

Good afternoon. Despite the cool temperatures, the cherry blossoms are in their full glory and our D.C. -area bloggers have taken note. We couldn’t resist the great photos from Jason’s View In D.C. The folks at We Love DC highlight a special cherry blossom promotion at Capital One banks that involves . . . free food.

For those of you who work for non-profits or have pet causes -- Philanthropy Front and Center offers this post – fundraising without actually having to ask for money.

We Love DC offers this “free food” alert. Restaurants around the D.C.-area are giving out free samples are various Capital One bank branches around the city. Participating restaurants include McCormick and Schmicks and Mi N Yu.

Diet can be a bad word in some folk’s books. A little of this, a little of that can leave you longing for more. Johnna Knows Good Food offers some advice on healthy foods that taste good and still leave you feeling full.

If you love a good yard sale, then this post from New Columbia Heights is for you. On Saturday, Apr. 2, there will be a community-wide yard sale in Columbia Heights (more than 40 yard sales all in one neighborhood).

That’s it for now. Thanks for reading and have a great rest of the day. I’ll be back Friday with more great posts from our D.C.-area bloggers.

Lori Aratani writes about how people live, work and play in the D.C. region for The Post’s Transportation and Development team.
