The Washington Post

First glimpse of the new Washington Wizards logo?

First came news that the Wizards may revert to their old team name — the Bullets — and their retro red, white and blue color scheme. That these suggestions from nostalgic fans are “under consideration” by Ted Leonsis, wrote the Post’s Michael Lee, is “enough to make some people woozy.”

Now, D.C. Sports Bog’s Dan Steinberg is reporting that we may have our first glimpse of what the new Wizards logo might look like.

Leonsis is remaining mum on the leaked logo, writing on his blog, “We won’t get into confirming or denying the validity of any logo designs ... We will announce the specific date for our public unveiling soon ...”

Twitter user Colin Wilcox was the first to come across the image — plastered on the back of a jacket featuring the logos of all NBA teams. By Tuesday afternoon, the company that makes the jackets had replaced images online with the team’s current blue and gold logo, but not before Steinberg grabbed a screen shot of the “horrific” item.
