If the D.C. Cherry Blossom Parade gets canceled, you might want one of our maps (#postblossoms)

The Post’s Ed O’Keefe reported Wednesday that if the federal government shuts down, Saturday’s Cherry Blossom Parade will be canceled. The good news is that you can launch your own self-guided celebration with one of our beautiful cherry blossoms maps.

Here’s how it works:

Follow @PostLocal on Twitter today for the announced Foursquare location at noon. The tweet will point to the Postie(s) in cherry blossom territory, and they’ll be tweeting their location with #postblossoms.

To get a map, just do one of two things:

• Check in with us on Foursquare and be sure to give us a shout!

• Tweet a picture to @PostLocal using the hash tag #postblossoms and we’ll include them in our cherry blossom photo gallery. (Note: We’ll put all photos with this hash tag into the gallery.) We’ll then trade you a map for the picture.

Sound good? Check back on @PostLocal or @GoingOutGuide at noon for the location. Happy hunting!

Cherry blossom festivities run through Sunday.
