Mangum’s act released the breakout “In the Aeroplane Over the Sea” 13 years ago, and music writers have had to savor the memory since. Slate refers to the reclusive singer as the “Salinger of Indie Rock.”


Mangum most recently surfaced at Occupy Wall Street, where he played an acoustic set for about 30 minutes. Video after the jump:
