Michelle Obama, Jill Biden call for support for military families

First lady Michelle Obama and Jill Biden, the vice president’s wife, are calling on Americans to show their support for military families as part of a nationwide initiative called Joining Forces.

“We know how much respect and admiration all of us have for our military service members and their families. And now we are asking you to turn that gratitude into concrete action,” Biden says.

The campaign encourages businesses, nonprofit groups, schools and individuals to get involved. The Associated Press reported that Best Buy’s Geek Squad, for example, will use technology to help families connect with loved ones who are deployed.
