Royal wedding guest list doesn’t include Obamas

Would President Obama be bummed to learn he’s been left off the royal wedding guest list, as Britain’s Mail on Sunday reports? (By Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images)

Or so says England’s Mail on Sunday newspaper, which claims to have the lowdown on the oh-so-secret guest list for the royal union of Prince William and Kate Middleton on April 29.

The palace has dismissed the newspaper’s details as speculation, reported the Associated Press, but the list of alleged invitees reads as a who’s who of British pop culture royalty.

In addition to soccer star David Beckham and wife Victoria, the Mail names Elton John and partner David Furnish as possible attendees.

Still, royal obligations will dictate that a large number of the 1,900 or so seats go to statesmen, diplomats and politicians. It remains to be seen who will attend — but it looks like the Obamas may have to watch the nuptuals on TV like the rest of us.
