The last week may be the most important one of President Obama’s tenure in office to date.

It began with his late Sunday announcement that he had authorized a mission that led to the death of Osama bin Laden and ends today with a visit to a military base in Kentucky that provided the helicopters used in the raid of the terrorist’s compound.

Throughout the week, Obama sought to keep to a simple strategic directive: be big.

Big as in magnanimous. Big as inclusive. But , will that approach pay long-term political dividends?
