Kudos to Ed for having the guts to call Mitt Romney on his foreign policy gaffe. While I doubt Ed will go this far, I think Romney's unsteadiness in the face of an unfolding foreign policy crisis will do him some lasting damage. Romney speaking before he knew the facts, criticizing the United States when our dead were still being counted, was wrong. Most Americans want a decent interval before the politics begins after Americans have sacrificed their lives for their country.

If you look back on most presidential campaigns, there are mistakes that often impact the course of the election. John McCain  suspending his campaign to supposedly help resolve the financial crisis; George H.W. Bush checking his watch in the debate. These mistakes stay with voters because they are so revealing. Mitt Romney just made one.
