Great Falls at sunrise, using HDR photography

The State of NoVa’s favorite photographer, Angela B. Pan, was out at Great Falls Monday morning, and worked her HDR magic to create this gorgeous shot of the Potomac River at sunrise. If you aren’t familiar with HDR, or high dynamic range photography, it’s a method of taking several images and combining them into one photo for greater depth and vibrancy.

You can also see Pan’s HDR shots of the Iwo Jima Memorial here, Alexandria’s waterfront here, and a waterfall in Great Falls here. And her website is here.

Tom Jackman is a native of Northern Virginia and has been covering the region for The Post since 1998.
