Boris Kodjoe, Grand Marshal for Howard homecoming

Ladies of D.C. rejoice: Boris Kodjoe will serve as Grand Marshal for Howard University’s homecoming, which kicks off Friday.

Kodjoe will be joined by an array entertainers during the annual nine-day celebration. Rapper Talib Kweli and gospel singer Shirley Caesar are among the headliners who will join R&B singers Tyrese, Joe, Monica and Avant .

“I am extremely honored and excited to be a part of this celebration at one of the most prestigious universities in the country, a school with an illustrious academic tradition and alumni who have been strong and positive leaders in our communities,” Kodjoe said in a statement

Howard’s homecoming, which usually attracts 20,000 revelers, is mainstay for entertainers. This year’s theme “Prestige: The Epitome of Distinction,” will culminate with the alumni weekend, Oct. 21-23.
