The Center for a New American Security has announced that Dr. Margaret Harrell has joined CNAS as senior fellow and director of the Joining Forces Initiative.

Harrell was previously at RAND where her work has focused on military personnel, development of military officers, veterans and military family issues.

“In the era of the all-volunteer force, this is a national security issue, and Meg’s work makes a major contribution to thinking about military wellness and its long-term influence on the force and on our society,” said said Nathaniel Fick, CNAS Chief Executive Officer, in a released statement.

At CNAS, Harrell will lead CNAS’ research on military wellness and lead the think tanks’s engagement with the White House’s Joining Forces Initiative.
