Tim Carney, Ramesh Ponuru named new AEI fellows

The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) has announced that two prominent figures in conservative media outlets will join the conservative think tank.

Washington Examiner columnist Tim Carney will help lead AEI’s Culture of Competition project and National Review senior editor Ramesh Ponnuru will examine the future of conservatism, as well as health care and economic policy.

“Tim has done important work examining corporate cronyism, political rent seeking, and the use of political power to achieve economic ends, and we look forward to his contributions to AEI,” said President Arthur Brooks in a statement. He added: “Always quick to challenge accepted orthodoxies, Ramesh is one of the most thoughtful and engaging of today’s young political and policy writers.”

Both Carney and Ponnuru were named in a recent David Brooks New York Times column as important players in the future of conservatism
