L-R: Dylan McDermott and Denis O'Hare in “American Horror Story.” (PRASHANT GUPTA)

Confused by “American Horror Story” so far and hoping for some answers? We’ve got a long way to go — FX announced Monday it has picked up a second season of the haunted house drama.

The series, from “Glee” creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, is currently on track to become FX’s highest-rated first season ever, the network said in its announcement. The first episode, which debuted earlier this month, clocked 3.2 million viewers, and has held steady ever since.

Starring Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton as an unhappily married couple who try to get a fresh start by moving across the country and wind up in what’s known as the super-haunted “Murder House,” the first season will wrap up with two new episodes on December 21.
