After being marooned for five years on a remote island, former billionaire playboy Oliver Queen returns in an outfit designed by three-time Oscar winning costume designer Colleen Atwood, which looks like something Prince would wear to a Halloween party.

It appears to include a quiver or arrows which, according to original Green Arrow lore, includes arrows for all occasions: explosive arrows, fire extinguishing arrows, tear gas arrows, glue arrows, even a boxing-glove arrow in the original comic, introduced way back in 1941.

Executive producer/pilot director David Nutter noted that, unlike “Smallville” – WB/CW’s longrunning Clark Kent-as-hunky-small-town-teen drama which Nutter also pilot-directed, this one will be darker, harder edged. And, of course, arrows.

“Arrow” is based on the original “Green Arrow” character published by DC Comics, which is owned by Warner Bros.

And, in one of those incredible TV coincidences, Warner Bros. is one of the partners in CW network.
