“Love You, Mean It” will debut in late 2012, and will run on Wednesday nights with “The Soup,” the long-running E! show now hosted by Joel McHale —  who, not coincidentally, also stars in the NBC comedy series “Community.”

“This show gives me a chance to get back to my stand-up roots…And I’m really excited to be able to say (almost) whatever I’d like on TV again. So thanks, E!” Cummings said in Monday’s announcement.

Cummings will be joined by celebrity guests and will have a sidekick, comic Julian McCullough.

NBC and E! are related since Comcast — which owned E!, among other cable networks — purchased NBC-parent NBCUniversal.
