Cuccinelli to headline GOP dinner in Iowa

Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli II will be the keynote speaker for the Iowa GOP annual Lincoln Dinner in Des Moines on May 5.

“We recently passed the two-year anniversary of ObamaCare becoming law, and the Supreme Court has begun reviewing the constitutionality of the Democrats’ healthcare mandate,’’ Republican Party of Iowa Chairman A.J. Spiker said in a statement. “Ken has been a leading opponent of this unconstitutional and destructive policy. We look forward to hearing Ken’s insight on this very important issue.”

Cuccinelli has drawn support from the tea party movement, and is no stranger to national speeches, though Iowa carries added significance for its place in the presidential race. He is running for governor in 2013 against Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling (R).
