General Assembly candidates to participate in September forum

Six Northern Virginia residents vying for General Assembly seats will participate in a September forum hosted by Prince William County’s Committee of 100.

The Sept. 14 event will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Westminster at Lakeridge, at 12191 Clipper Dr. in Woodbridge. The candidates planning to attend include incumbent Sen. Linda T. “Toddy” Puller (D-Fairfax) and incumbent Del. Luke Torian (D-Prince William) and their Republican challengers, former delegate Jeff Frederick and Cleveland Anderson, respectively.

Republican Mark Dudenhefer, chairman of the Stafford County Board of Supervisors, and Democrat Esteban Garces will also participate in the event. The two are vying for the newly created House of Delegates seat in the 2nd district, which spans Prince William and Stafford counties.

The Prince William Committee of 100 provides nonpartisan forums that cover issues of interest in Prince William, Manassas and Manassas Park, according to the group’s Web site.

The September event is free to the public.
