The reception will take place at McGuireWoods, one of Richmond’s most powerful and influential law and lobbying firms, where McDonnell has strong ties.

Then on Friday, McDonnell will travel to the District to attend a fundraiser at Morton’s Steakhouse for Bill Maloney, gubernatorial candidate in West Virginia.

McDonnell, chairman of the Republican Governors Association, will help candidates in 11 gubernatorial races this year, much as he has in past elections.

His political action committee, Opportunity Virginia, announced last week that it raised $600,000 during the second quarter. The bulk of it paid for TV ads.
