He will be accompanied by his wife, Maureen; Secretary of Commerce and Trade Jim Cheng; Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry Todd Haymore; Secretary of Technology Jim Duffey, as well as 14 others from the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, the Virginia Tourism Corporation, Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and Virginia Wine Marketing Office. Some will only travel to one of the destinations.

The McDonnells will hold a Virginia tourism, wine and film reception at the Trump Tower Atrium in New York Tuesday and at the Le Windsor in Montreal Thursday.

Canada is Virginia’s largest trading partner. Also, about 575,000 visitors to Virginia come from Canada, the most number of international visitors to the state.

McDonnell will return Friday.

McDonnell spokesman Jeff Caldwell said the cost of the trip is about $140,500, but that is likely to change once the final bills arrive. The state will pay for the trip.
