He will hold economic development meetings — on everything from technology to retail to tourism — Monday in Washington state. Tuesday and Wednesday, he’ll be in California, where Virginia will hold a tourism and wine reception.

McDonnell will be joined by Secretary of Commerce and Trade Jim Cheng, Secretary of Agriculture Todd Haymore and staff from the Virginia Economic Development Partnership. His wife, Maureen, who had made promoting Virginia’s wine industry one of her projects, will join him in California, as will members of the Virginia Wine Marketing Office and Virginia Tourism Corporation.

McDonnell will return to Richmond on Thursday.
