So where’s Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell?

No. 2, after Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), but before New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

“McDonnell has been studying up on issues beyond his normal portfolio,’’ according to Hotline. “He’s got a good reputation with conservatives, too.”

McDonnell, chairman of the Republican Governors Association and one of the most popular governors in the nation, is in demand. This month, he will head to Kansas and Missouri.

Don’t forget he spoke in all important — first state in the nation — New Hampshire in September.
