Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley will square off — again — on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday.

McDonnell, who leads the Republican Governors Association, and O’Malley, who heads the Democratic Governors Association, will talk about the economy and the presidential campaign.

While O’Malley obviously supports Obama, McDonnell has been campaigning across the nation for Mitt Romney for weeks.

Both governors appear frequently on national news shows and have been mentioned as possible potential national candidates.

Sunday’s show is the latest in joint appearances for McDonnell and O’Malley, who say they have established a good working relationship on regional issues, but clash on a host of political issues.

Last month, as the two men were embroiled in social issues back home — gay marriage in Maryland and abortion rights in Virginia — they sparred in a forum that kicked off the annual gathering of the nation’s governors in the District.
