McDonnell revamps his policy shop

After a slew of departures, Gov. Bob McDonnell (R) announced Wednesday several new appointments to his policy office:

-- Jasen Eige, counselor and senior adviser to the governor, has been promoted to counselor and senior policy advisor to the governor.

-- Julia Ciarlo Hammond, director of legislative affairs, will take on an enhanced role in policy as director of legislative affairs and policy adviser.

-- Christy Morton, a specialist in communications and public relations at Virginia Natural Gas, will join the administration as deputy director for external affairs and policy development.

-- Andrew Lamar, legislative liaison, has been promoted to deputy director of legislative affairs and policy adviser.

-- Jenny Wortham, special assistant for legislative review and scheduling, will take on a new role as special assistant for legislative affairs and information systems.

-- Generra Peck will join the policy office from the Secretary of Commerce and Trade’s office as special assistant for policy development.
