As The Fix reports, President Obama’s reelection campaign is up with a new ad in Virginia and five other key states taking on former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney (R) because he allegedly “stood with Big Oil.”

It’s the second ad the Obama campaign has run this cycle, and both have focused on energy policy. Debates over energy have also flared up in Virginia’s marquee Senate race, which will probably pit former governors George Allen (R) and Timothy M. Kaine (D) against each other in the fall.

Republican National Committee spokeswoman Allie Brandenburger said the ad showed “Obama is panicked because his none-of-the-above energy strategy has failed to do anything about soaring gas prices that are hurting families in Virginia.”
